Position Summary:

To deliver exceptional HVAC installation service to the customer by completing and installing HVAC equipment and accessories. To ensure all work is performed correctly and is reflective of Vectra’s values including but not limited to knowledge, integrity and quality.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Lead Installation Technician with the installation of HVAC related equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications.
    Support Lead Installer in:

    • Installing HVAC related equipment.
    • Installing Sheet metal duct systems.
    • Connecting gas lines to heating equipment.
    • Cutting and threading pipes.
    • Wiring both line voltage and low voltage to heating equipment.
    • Installing copper refrigerant line to air conditioning units, including soldering and brazing.
    • Inspect area for cleanliness after job is completed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Informs a manager or team leader of any safety issues.
    • Maintain a courteous demeanor with customers and associates at all times.
    • Maintain a professional image at all times by wearing a company approved uniform.

Position Summary:

To deliver exceptional HVAC installation on residential and light commercial heating and air conditioning systems. To oversee the work of the HVAC Service Apprentice to ensure all work is performed correctly and is reflective of Vectra’s values. Utilize your knowledge to provide an honest service of the highest quality to Vectra’s customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install HVAC related equipment and accessories in accordance to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Install gas lines, flue pipes, and wiring for both high and low voltage wiring applications as well as run flue liners.
  • Install copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including soldering and brazing.
  • Design, fabricate and install various ducts and duct fittings as necessary.
  • Properly connect gas lines to heating equipment.
  • Perform start-ups on heating, cooling systems and other components.
  • Perform limited diagnostics, as necessary.
  • Train, coach and mentor apprentices.
  • Braze copper joints without leaks.
  • Pull vacuums on refrigerant systems and test for tightness.
  • Install and program all versions of thermostats.
  • Install, wire and plumb all IAQ products.
  • Set an air conditioner, heat pump, furnace or air handler
  • Deliver equipment needed to complete the installation and remove old equipment.
  • Keep vehicle clean and in safe working order.
  • Ensure vehicle is stocked and accurately inventoried.
  • Return defective warranty parts to the branch.
  • Effectively communicate with the customer regarding questions, concerns and problems.
  • Inform a manager if the customer does not have HVAC service before leaving the call.
  • Facilitate rescheduling customer appointment, if call is not complete
  • Accurately complete all required documentation on services performed including “check list”. Informs a manager or team leader of any safety issues.

The Service Manager will assist the Operations Manager with the following job duties:

  • Coordinate with service technicians for all job related matters.
  • Represent Vectra Mechanical when scouting out new maintenance agreements and service clients.
  • Assist dispatch with properly coordinating service schedules based on the right-tech for the right call.
  • Assist in the turnover of replacement leads/projects to the Installation Department.
  • Provide technical support (on-site or phone based based on needs) to ensure the service technicians receive the support they need.
  • Assist in ordering of parts/equipment/materials.
  • Assist with providing service technicians an estimate for replacement and large service projects.
  • Track daily opportunities, technician attendance, performance and other various metrics.
  • Ensure that follow-ups to service calls are always taken care of in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Enforce all company policies to all field level employees managed under this role.

Qualifications:

  • Previous service management roles preferred, but not required.
  • Extensive field experience for residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
  • Willingness to go support a team member in trouble should the need arise (Team Player).
  • Basic Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Docs and field management software.
  • Working knowledge of common residential & light commercial mechanical systems including but not limited to: Hydronics, forced air, heat pump systems, RTUs.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Valid Drivers license and reliable means of transportation.
